Volunteering and the GWSA:
The Guelph Wellington Seniors Association was presented with the “Outstanding Achievement Award for Volunteerism in Ontario” by the Province of Ontario on November 8, 2005 at a ceremony in Kitchener. The outstanding volunteer achievement and dedication is what continues to make Evergreen the place to be.
The Evergreen Seniors Community Centre has over 500 volunteers who contribute their time to the many different activities, programs, services and special events year round.
The need for volunteers continues to grow and everyone is always welcome to apply for a volunteer position to join the dynamic team. People volunteer to get involved in their community; to give back; to meet new friends; to become familiar with their new neighbourhood; and learn new skills.
If you are wondering what some of our volunteers are doing with the groups at the GWSA, you can download some generic Position Descriptions below. This will give you an idea of how the various groups operate at the GWSA.
Activity Group Member at Large
Activity Group President
Activity Group Secretary
Activity Group Treasurer
Staying active and being engaged in volunteer activities and experiences promotes a healthy lifestyle.
If you are interested in volunteering and becoming a part of the team, there are many different opportunities available to best meet your interest, strengths and schedule and we will work with you to determine the best fit.
In addition, you can send an email regarding your decision to volunteer with the GWSA from our Contact page. You can ask any questions that you may have this way. You can speak to Becky MacDonald (519-822-1260 X 2096) for information
