This mixed choir of more than 30 men and women performs throughout the year. From September to December we practise every Friday afternoon and we sing at local Christmas events. We welcome new members at any time. We sing for fun and fellowship.
The Silvertones Choir was formed in 1980. This active group of men and women aged 55+ share a love of singing and having fun, enjoying songs old and new. They also love to entertain others with their singing and to spread cheer and happiness.
For the 2017/18 season we welcome back our new Director, Ann Sneyd, an accomplished musician and choral director. We are happy to welcome back our popular pianist, Mary Lynn Woods.
We are currently rehearsing for two special occasions. The first has been named “The Day Before” on November 10 and is a Service of Remembrance, complete with war pictures, music, interviews with some World War II Veterans as well as some photos from different parts of Canada. The second is the Annual Christmas Variety Show, slated for November 30, December 1 and 2.
Our Music Selections for 2017/2018 are as follows:
THE DAY BEFORE (November 10, 2017)
Showtime 2017 (November 30, December 1 and 2, 2017)
The choir meets at the Evergreen Seniors Community Centre in Room 3 from 12.45 to 3.00 pm every Friday afternoon with a mid-afternoon break for tea.
